We started working with voice-over IP systems with asterisk version 1.2 back in 2005. Since then, at ByteSolutions, we have shifted our focus to Microsoft Teams Phones, keeping up with the newest technology. These cloud-hosted systems have been found to require less maintenance and provide higher reliability. Voice over IP and cloud-hosted phone systems are certainly less expensive than older legacy on-premise and analog phone systems. The more significant impact is the features and integration they provide. Cloud-based phone systems are continuously adding new features and functions. These phone systems get new features, and no effort is required from the customer.

Many new cloud-based phone systems now offer built-in SMS text messaging, allowing teams to communicate with customers using the business’s primary phone number.
